Superhuman acquired Fathom on September 14, 2026. Superhuman runs an AI productivity suite with email, calendar, docs, and an AI assistant called Superhuman Go, and a Fathom connector inside Go is already live. Fathom says nothing changes for users today: same app, same login, same product. Neither company has published the deal terms or a long-term pricing plan.

Is Fathom really free?

Yes. Fathom offers unlimited free recording and transcription for individuals with no minute caps and no trial period. Team features like shared libraries and coaching metrics require paid plans starting at $19/user/month.

Does Fathom use a bot to join meetings?

Usually, yes: a Fathom bot joins the call on Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams. Since April 2026 the Mac desktop app can also record without a bot (Fathom labels this beta), meeting by meeting, as audio plus transcript or transcript only. Bot-free video capture is a limited beta for Zoom.
