Which is better for enterprise, Recall.ai or Nylas Notetaker?
Close. Both publish SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA with a BAA on Enterprise, a DPA and an uptime SLA on Enterprise; Nylas adds ISO 27701 and states its SOC 2 report is Type II. Recall.ai offers US, EU and Japan regions. Nylas offers US and EU at platform level, but its residency documentation does not mention Notetaker.

It depends on what else you need. Nylas's free plan includes 5 bot hours every month alongside its email and calendar APIs and AI summaries. Recall.ai's startup program gives approved early-stage startups $0.25 per hour for their first 10,000 hours, which is cheaper at scale.

Near parity. Recall.ai costs $650 a month (1,000 x ($0.50 + $0.15 transcription)). Nylas costs from $647.50 on Pro annual ($43 + 930 extra hours x $0.65) or from $700 on Pro monthly, and includes AI summaries and action items.

Both sell an uptime SLA on Enterprise without publishing the percentage on their pricing pages; Recall.ai advertises 99.9% in its marketing. Nylas runs a public status page with a Notetaker component; we found none for Recall.ai.

Which has better recording quality and speaker diarization?
Recall.ai offers four diarization methods, including a separate audio stream per participant, and a choice of its own engine or 6 third-party providers. Nylas uses one engine, AssemblyAI, with model-based diarization and speaker names in the transcript.

Which is better for real-time features or AI agents?
Recall.ai. It streams transcripts and media in real time, and its bots can play audio and show video, for example as an AI avatar. We found no real-time streaming in Nylas's documentation, which describes only a static image as the bot's video output.

Which is the market leader, Recall.ai or Nylas?
They lead different markets. Recall.ai is a meeting-recording specialist with a $38M Series B (September 2025) that Microsoft names as a Teams bot identification partner. Nylas is an email and calendar API platform that says 250,000+ developers use it; Notetaker is one product in that bundle.

What makes each tool different
Recall.ai
Recall.ai is the leading meeting bot infrastructure provider, processing, in the words of its own engineering blog, terabytes per second of real-time media across many thousands of cloud instances. Over 3,000 companies use it, including HubSpot, ClickUp, Monday.com, and Instacart. They also offer a Desktop Recording SDK for botless capture and interactive agents that can speak inside meetings.
Nylas Notetaker
Nylas Notetaker is a newer addition to the Nylas platform, which thousands of developers already use for email and calendar APIs. The main draw is bundling: if you already use Nylas for calendar sync, adding recording is one API call away. Since September 9, 2026 every Nylas plan includes Notetaker with a published allowance of bot hours, from 5 free hours up to 70 on Pro. Transcription is powered by AssemblyAI. The trade-off is fewer platform integrations and less mature real-time features compared to Recall.ai.
